A paradise for mountain bikers and road cyclists!
Every year the Stelvio Pass and its challenging road attract thousands of cycling enthusiasts. The usual route follows the winding Stelvio Pass road to the top of the pass, over the Umbrail Pass and Santa Maria Val Müstair through Switzerland and back either to Glorenza or Prato, which both lie at the feet of the pass road.
Cycling day Stelvio Pass – Stelviobike
Every year, either on the first Saturday of September or last Saturday of August, the Stelvio hosts the Stelvio Bike Day. On this day, the authorities close the road from Trafoi to Bormio to motorized traffic for the entire day, allowing thousands of cyclists, runners and hikers to fully enjoy the road. Cycling in the heart of the Stelvio National Park, which every cycling fan in Europe will know as the royal stage of the Giro d'Italia, means undisturbed cycling.
And then there’s the Goldsee, which will make the heart of every mountain biker beat faster.
The Tibet Hut is the perfect accommodation for every Transalp athlete!
